One of the largest comprehensive institutes of hematology in China

Peking University Institute of Hematology is a comprehensive center for the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic diseases, and established the standard diagnostic and therapeutic system of hematologic malignancy. As well as, Peking University Institute of Hematology is also the State key discipline of Ministry of Education, Innovative Group of Ministry of Education and clinical key discipline of Ministry of Health. In additon, the institute also has one of the five biggest hemotopoietic stem cell transplantation centers in the world and the biggest center in Asia. In 1964, the institute performed the forth syngeneic bone marrow transplantation in world and also the first in Asia. And then, in 1981, the institute took the lead in carrying out HLA-matched sibling allogeneic bone marrow transplantation in China. After decades of hard work, Peking University Institute of Hematology firstly established HLA-mismatched hematopoietic stem cell transplantation system in world. Now, each year there are around 700 cases of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation are performed in our institute and more than 5000 cases have already been performed until now.
